Worth reading ! October 23, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Do you ever feel that some women are just "naturally" beautiful... And you're just not... Do you ever see an attractive woman and instantly hate her? Do you sometimes hide parts of your personality from the rest of the world... because you're too self-conscious about your looks? Do you feel like you lack the resources and money to really improve your appearance? Do you ever feel like you're just too old to be sexy anymore? Do you sometimes cancel your plans and avoid going out with your girlfriends... Because your appearance makes you feel too shy and insecure? Do you ever worry that more attractive women are talking about you behind your back... And making fun of you because you aren't "beautiful like them"? Do you ever catch your man "sneaking a glance" at another woman... Do you sometimes want to look more attractive, but don't want to take it "too far" and look slutty? Well, I think that most women sometimes feel insecure about their appearance and this book will give them the confidence that they need and the gorgeous glow that they've always wanted. I bought this for a friend in the office and she was transformed from a depressing dullard to a gorgeous diva! She was so insecure about her looks and I thought it will be a good idea to give her this book as a gift and the best thing is that I've seen that this book works! I'm so glad that I helped my friend because the transformation is obvious and everybody in the office make her compliments. I recommend it!
A Good Guide - but too short! August 23, 2008 4 out of 19 found this review helpful
I have been reeding lots of book in this genre and I selected this one based on the strong review rating. However I just felt I had to bring the stars to a more realistic level as it's very misleading. This book is increadibly short at 94 pages. And while some of the content is very much in line with similar genre books (i.e. there are actually some good tips on being more aloof) this particular book does not delve in to the level of detail others do, and the motivations behind behaviors. It is somewhat simplistic and rather dumbed down. For example one of the tips is "Pamper your tired feet with a luxurious footbath" and another "brush your teeth" and "buy clothes that fit you"! In a nutshell - it's not a lot of book for your money and if you are engaged enough in this genre your will find other books much more interesting.
Written for 16 year olds!!!! August 7, 2008 5 out of 19 found this review helpful
Quite possibly the worst book I have ever read when it comes to dating. One tip is 'brush your teeth in the morning..it will freshen your breath!'.
Seriously, this is awful.
Don't waste your money on a book which gives you tips which, to be honest, if you needed this book to tell you them, then you really have no need to question why you are single!
One other tip tells you that you should have long hair, and if you don't then you should grow it! I find this book condescending and full of simple drivvel that would be better served to 16 year olds going on first dates.
I'm no feminist, I have a career, two children and I am very girly and feminine, but this book is full of tips to turn you into a simpering, doormat in order to get your man, with one tip telling you that you will end up without a man if you talk during a football game!!!!
It talks about how to be a hot woman, but so far all I have gathered is how to be a sweet, meek mild woman who bends over backwards to fit in with his mates, his life, his mealtimes and his sport with no mention of how to be the woman of today who has opinions, spirit and a sense of who she is.
I want to find someone special, I really do, but I would rather be on my own that follow this book and turn myself into a simpering fluffy cardigan wearing simpleton to get a man. I normally read books and sell them on, but my copy of this will be going in the bin, I am very disappointed in how awful it is, despite the great reviews!
I have read two books since this one and they wipe the floor with this one.
Both available from Amazon and both are great books which give you tips and insight into men and what they like don't like etc, but with these books, you don't have to wear pink, grow your hair or turn yourself inside out to be someone your not!
Nothing new May 19, 2008 9 out of 24 found this review helpful
I'm afraid I just read this book and thought it was very poor. Nothing in it but what common sense would tell you anyway. And some of the suggestions 'buy a high class car' to impress him or 'host a TV show' are just plain stupid.
If you are looking for some light hearted fun, its fine, but for the price it's not worth it. I'd recommend Men love Bitches though, also on Amazon, much more practical and funny too!
Good Book March 11, 2008 14 out of 19 found this review helpful
This book is definately worth a read but it is a pity about the poor English. The editing is very poor. Paragraphs are repeated, and there are many very obvious typographical errors. However- content is good overall.
