A must read book for men who love women. July 20, 2005 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is the best sexual manual I have ever read. Without exception.I explains, in great detail, how women achieve orgasm. As a man who has spent his life trying to be a good lover, it has widened my horizons by teaching me many things I did not know. Of course there is a feminist side. That is not surprising because the male half of the population has done very little to help women achieve the best possible joy from sex and love making. Men who put their lover's needs before theirs also have much to learn from this book. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Mike Van Moppes
review :The Clitoral Truth. February 10, 2004 5 out of 18 found this review helpful
Fascinating... The other reviewers are right in what they say, it is very forgettable with some long and very technical stuff, and yes it has some obscure diagrams, But if you are interested in Sexual Liberation for women this is an brilliant start (particularly chapter 2) and if you are a bloke (i am one) then prepare for enlightenment in ways unexpected. (Loads of Lessbos!!!)

Surprisingly forgettable September 25, 2001 16 out of 23 found this review helpful
Considering the subject matter, I would have expected it to be much more interesting than it is; I tended to drift through the book without much of it making an impression on my mind. As well as some self-congratulatory details of the clitoral structures, the reader will search through a mess of unfocussed anecdotes about encounter groups and sexual politics. It would have been more effective and memorable as a pamphlet.
The power of female sexuality March 22, 2001 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
The Clitoral Truth explores in detail, women's genital anatomy and sexual response. From a feminist perspective, Rebecca Chalker examines the traditional role of penetrative heterosexual intercourse and questions this as a route for women's sexual fulfillment. This is a sexuality workshop in book form. Accurate illustrations of female genitalia make us aware of the power of women's sexuality. Women will learn new routes to sexual pleasure and men will learn what women really want.
